New to the Cru: Introducing Nicole – GM of People & Culture

In today’s fiercely competitive business world, none more so than the mining industry, the ability to attract and retain top talent is paramount for achieving success.

We know that when individuals feel valued and respected in their workplace, they are more inclined to work together towards shared objectives, elevating morale and overall performance.

That is why we are thrilled to welcome Nicole La Galia as the new General Manager – People & Culture at Schlam Cru. With her extensive experience in people leadership, Nicole is the perfect fit for this role. Entrusting Nicole to lead our diversity and inclusion efforts will bring fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to the forefront, sparking creativity and enhancing problem-solving within the organisation.

Her proven track record in transforming and nurturing high-performing and culturally diverse teams brings a wealth of expertise to the table. Having excelled in various companies across different regions, she possesses all the skills necessary to implement people strategies, drive change management initiatives, and foster an inclusive workforce.

“I am excited to be in a role created to provide additional expertise in the establishment of a powerful people legacy, as we continue to grow our business at a rapid rate.” Nicole said.

When asked about what her first impressions of Schlam, Nicole reflects on discovering that the business as a whole has far more depth to it than she initially realised.

“What immediately struck me as our key points of difference were Schlam’s agility in decision making when it counts – it sounds like it should be a given, but often it isn’t.”

Her key priorities are to keep the momentum going by continuing the great work that has already started in Cru, more specifically focusing on our retention strategy, establishing talent communities and better people governance.

“My vision is to make a significant difference by enabling an authentic and engaging people experience so we attract, coach, mentor, develop, lead, inspire and retain high performing, diverse and inclusive teams.” Nicole said.

Embracing a range of backgrounds and experiences enables Schlam Cru to tap into a vast pool of knowledge and expertise, leading to groundbreaking advancements and solutions.

Investing in the well-being and professional growth of teams as well as prioritising the individual growth and success within the organisation, we know our business and our people can thrive.

With Nicole’s leadership in steering strategic priorities concerning leadership, people, and culture at Schlam Cru, the company is poised to remain centered on its employees and continue being a great place to work.

Welcome Nicole!
