SCHLAM EXPANDS TO MUSWELLBROOK TO BETTER SERVE NSW MINES

Muswellbrook manufacturing

As demand continues to grow on Australia’s East Coast, we’re proud to announce the opening of a new Schlam manufacturing facility in Muswellbrook, New South Wales.

Located in the heart of the Hunter Valley, this dedicated site will assemble Hercules Mining Truck Beds and Barracuda Loading Attachments to support open pit operations across the region.

Set to be fully operational by August 2025, the facility will create new jobs across trade, professional, and leadership roles.

“This is an example of how our global expansion is driven by customers’ needs,” said David Haslett, Executive Chair and CEO.

“The Muswellbrook facility will provide customers with convenient, local resources to support the whole lifecycle of our products used in NSW mines.”

Building Locally. Backing Our Customers.

The 1,600m² site on Carramere Road will be fitted out in July with Schlam’s advanced manufacturing systems and tools, in line with our internationally certified quality management processes.

From the facility, we will:

  • Assemble Hercules truck bodies for all haul truck models 90T and above including the Hercules Ultra for 400T+ payloads
  • Assemble and progressively move to manufacture Barracuda Loading Attachments designed for 100 – 600 tonne excavators, loaders and backhoes.
  • Provide on-the-ground Product Lifecycle Care services, including rebuilds, refurbishments, wear monitoring, and recycling

It’s all about delivering a smarter, more responsive experience for customers who depend on our products to perform.

“Lifecycle care has become an important part of our service to customers as it extends product life and reduces environmental impact,” said Haslett.

Proudly Supporting the Hunter Region

This expansion marks a new chapter for Schlam and reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting the communities in which we operate.

By manufacturing closer to the point of use, we’re not just improving delivery timelines—we’re investing in local jobs, regional suppliers, and the future of mining in the Hunter Valley.
