Compensation

Rosters
We understand that some people just don’t want long periods away from home, and others just want to cash up fast! Other companies only offer set rosters that don’t suit their lifestyle but at Schlam we allow you to choose your roster and offer a variety of swings.

Given our large customer base, Schlam can offer you work on all Tier 1 mine sites, among many others across the Pilbara and the Goldfields. We also have Perth-based options if you are wanting (or needing) to come back home for personal reasons.

We have assisted many Schlam employees through their Trade Upgrades from LV Mechanics to HD Mechanics. Schlam can pay for your HRWL tickets and upskilling courses too. With the right attitude, you can progress your career into leading hand/supervisor roles fairly quickly, and you’ll gain exposure to a huge range of heavy equipment.

Our main headquarters is located in Welshpool, Western Australia, but we have operations all over the Pilbara, Goldfields and Perth Metro.
HD Mechanics, Auto Electricians, LV Mechanics, Drill and Digger Specialists, Field Service Persons, MEM Boilermakers, Line Borers, Painter Blasters, and Trade Assistants.
Our Schlam Cru employees work across the Pilbara and Goldfields on over 45 mine sites, including the Tier 1 miners and other operators. We have new opportunities coming up regularly as we expand into new territories.
Operation-based roles are managed out of our Welshpool Head Office.
Only Australian Citizens and Permanent Resident visa holders are eligible at this time.
Once a year, we open up an International Recruitment Program where international candidates are encouraged to apply for FIFO roles at Schlam. Please keep an eye on our social media for program dates.
Yes, we offer interstate FIFO from most capital cities in both Australia and NZ, but please keep in mind that you must comply with all state and federal government border requirements.

We recommend carrying one to two bags (max 10kg each) with essential tooling on your initial mobilisation flight. We will arrange for your toolbox to be sent to the site.
We sure do! We have several Light Vehicle and Heavy Road Transport Mechanics upskilling to HD Plant Mechanic trade qualifications and Trade Assistants moving up to Service Person and Boilermaker roles.
