SCHLAM PAYLOAD WINS PRESTIGIOUS AWARD FROM WORKSAFE WA

We are incredibly proud to announce that Schlam Payload has won the WorkSafe WA Work Health & Safety Invention of the Year Award for our groundbreaking tray stand trolleys!

Developed with the safety and well-being of our team in mind, these trolleys represent a game-changing solution that significantly reduces risks associated with manual handling and suspended loads, especially during the installation of up-stands that support our world-class Hercules trays.

Following a collaborative discussion during a client site visit, the trolley was designed and fabricated in house by Owen Davis, Huawei Cong and Alon Abad, and rigorously tested by Jonas Talaboc, Marlon Gamboa, John Olaer and Dante Saludo (pictured) at our Forrestfield facility.

The tray stand trolleys reflect our commitment to safety and our dedication to setting new industry standards. We listened to the challenges faced by our talented tradespeople, and our innovative team brought this solution to life, showcasing how Schlam combines industry insight, smart design, and a relentless drive to make things happen.

Our tray stand trolleys feature a level-action lifting system and a unique three-wheel, rear-steering design that enhances manoeuvrability and precision. Since implementing the trolleys, we’ve achieved zero incidents related to stand positioning, a testament to the efficiency and safety this tool brings to our team.

With this award-winning innovation, Schlam Payload has reaffirmed its dedication to protecting our team members while enhancing productivity. “Safety is embedded in everything we do,” shared Tim, Schlam Payload’s HSE Manager. “We are proud to have set a new benchmark for safe practices in heavy equipment manufacturing.”

This win is a huge milestone for Schlam Payload and reinforces our reputation as a leader in workplace safety and practical innovation. Putting an emphasis on Schlam’s ‘Everyone Goes Home’ principle, our tray stand trolleys are a key safety initiative at Forrestfield, underscoring our promise to deliver industry-leading solutions that protect our people and improve operational outcomes.

We extend our gratitude to WorkSafe WA for this recognition and congratulate our fellow finalists, whose work continues to elevate health and safety standards across various industries.
