It’s always great to work with our customers in supporting the communities in which we live and work, and to ultimately share in something special.

Last Sunday, together with Northern Star Resources, we took part in the GIFSA St Barbara’s Festival Parade – one of the key events in the Kalgoorlie-Boulder community events calendar.

Each year, the event brings mining to the Goldfields community with a fun and energetic street parade, honouring St Barbara, the patron saint of mining.

Featuring in the parade was a CAT793F dump truck, complete with a s Schlam Hercules dump body specially designed to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Urban Landcare Group.

The artwork design features the Karlkurla (or silky pear), a traditional food source for local Aboriginal people and an important symbol of Kalgoorlie’s namesake. 

The Kalgoorlie-Boulder Urban Landcare Group is an incredible local community group that has improved environmental outcomes in the Goldfields region and continues to support, educate and create sustainable landcare outcomes.

While we are proud of taking part in the event, we are honoured to join a long-standing customer in supporting a vital community initiative.
