Where is Schlam based?

Our headquarters is located in Welshpool, Western Australia.

What field service roles do you commonly hire?

HD Mechanics, Auto Electricians, Light Vehicle Mechanics, Service Persons, MEM Boilermakers, Line Borers, Painter Blasters, and Trade Assistants.

What rosters are on offer?

Depending on the role, we typically have fixed roster options for 8/6, 2/1, 2/2, 3/1, and casual arrangements.

Where do Schlam’s people work?

Our People Solutions crew work across the Pilbara on many sites, including the Tier 1 miners and other operators. We have new opportunities coming up regularly as we expand into new territories.

Do you offer visa sponsorship?

No, we do not offer visa sponsorship. Only Australian Citizens and Permanent Resident visa holders are eligible at this time.

Do you employ people who live interstate for FIFO roles?

Yes, we offer interstate FIFO from most capital cities, but please keep in mind that you must comply with all state and federal government border requirements.

Am I required to have my COVID-19 vaccinations to work for Schlam?

As a service provider to the mining sector in Western Australia, we are required to comply with state legislation and our client’s site access requirements. For up-to-date information, please refer to www.health.wa.gov.au.

I’m a subcontractor working under my own ABN. Can I work with Schlam?

We are open to working with subcontractors; please contact us for more information.

How do my tools get to the site?

We recommend carrying one to two bags (max 10kg each) with essential tooling on your initial mobilisation flight. We will arrange for your toolbox to be sent to the site.

Does Schlam have an upskilling program?

We sure do! We have several Light Vehicle and Heavy Road Transport Mechanics upskilling to HD Plant Mechanic trade qualifications and Trade Assistants moving up to Service Person and Boilermaker roles.
